CHAPEL HILL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | THE BARN AT VALHALLA | BRI & JODY

We’re baaaa-ack!!!!

Did you miss us??? Well no worries my friends, because this blog is BACK in business, hooray!!!! And what a great one to start back on!

This is Bri and Jody’s AH-MAZING wedding at The Barn at Valhalla. If you are looking for ideas for an upscale country chic wedding, this is the PERFECT inspiration. This was absolutely the most dreamy and romantic spring wedding last year, planned by Emily Katherine Events. It was. Just. Gorgeous. And so much fun! And full of love and happiness. And all the things! The wedding photos really highlight all of the fun and laughter throughout the day. Even though Jody hates pictures. Really. Bri told me even before their engagement session that Jody even has his own hashtag of #jodyhatespictures. I don’t know why, as he totally rocked both of our shoots together!

So before we dive into the wedding details, let’s look at Bri and Jody’s engagement session. We did their photos at Horseshoe Nature Park. With their dogs! How sweet is that? Bri is a veterinarian, so it was really a no brainer that the dogs would be included in the engagement photos! Here’s a quick peek.

Wedding Funness

Alright… the wedding! Let’s just start with Bri’s amazing wedding gown because it is a show stopper. Positively stunning. And then she put it on and it was clear that the dress was made FOR HER. Jody loved Bri’s wedding dress because he said her booty looked amazing in it. He’s not wrong. In fact, the black and white photo of her in the doorway wearing this dress was one of my most favorited images across ALL of the Rose Trail Images social media last year! To accessorize this magnificent wedding dress, the bride chose her Duke football garter, her grandfather’s pin, and some heirlooms from her childhood.

Bri gave Jody an engraved guitar pick and a record as a day of wedding present as a nod to Jody’s love of music. Jody on the fly scribbled something on a piece of paper last minute and Bri LOVED it. When you scroll down a bit, you will see a photo or two of her completely laughing so hard, tears included. Amazing! You’ll see a close up shot of a button as well when you scroll down… While Jody was getting ready, one of the groomsmen had a mishap with the button on his suit… the mishap being that the button fell off. Or went missing. Or maybe it just ran away, who knows? Now, I don’t broadcast this, but I have some mad sewing skills. So I put on my seamstress hat for a couple minutes to promptly remedy that situation. I’m so handy. ;)The wedding ceremony was outdoors in the most beautiful spring wedding weather you could ever hope to have on your wedding day. The picturesque wedding venue, the Barn at Valhalla in Chapel Hill, could not have been a more perfect backdrop. You will even see the dancing shadows of lush surrounding greenery in the wedding photos below. It was such a bright, fresh, and magical setting. Now, the reception was a GIANT, most DOPE party EVER! They had a band called The Krewe Band and they were AMAZING!!! During the band break, there was a Polish polka wedding dance where Bri wore a babushka that belonged to her grandmother. People paid money to dance with her and it was hysterical! So fun weaving family tradition into modern events! Another fun bit was at the end of the night, one of the groomsmen even got to sing along with the band to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” It was classic. So memorable. Then there was a glow stick send-off for the newlyweds. It was an amazing day full of friends, family, love, and definitely no shortage of laughter.

There’s even a video from the day if you’d like to see it! Scroll down to the very bottom to check out Bovara Studios’ handiwork!!
