Holli and Gary!!! Such a fun couple!!! They actually moved to Greenville, so we did their engagement session two summers ago in downtown Durham. They’re super sweet! Here’s a quick peek:
Moving forward to their 2019 wedding day at the picturesque countryside chic retreat, The Barn at Valhalla in Chapel Hill… the girls got ready upstairs in the piano room and the guys got ready in the basement. Holli had a first look with her dad and it was super cute.
The wedding ceremony was outside… in December… that’s practically unheard of, right?! The wedding ceremony was supposed to be inside the barn, but the weather was so uncharacteristically gorgeous that plans changed and the wedding ceremony took place outside on the porch in front of the stone fireplace. It could not have been more perfect.
The adorable flower girls were the bride’s nieces. They LOVE their Aunt Holli! The bride and groom lit a unity candle during the wedding ceremony. And, fun fact, I got to be one of the witnesses on their marriage certificate! (In case you’re wondering why there’s only photos of one witness signing.) Such an honor!
For the wedding reception, the bride and groom chose to have a band instead of a DJ and the EG PETERS Band kept everyone dancing all night. The groom even had a bit of solo during one number. (Total inference. Not sure about this?) Beautiful and delicious catering by Fords Fluent N' Food Catering had everyone licking their lips. Then there was a wedding cake from Love Cake served during the parent dances. And the whole evening ended with a romantic sparkler sendoff.
The whole day was such a charming celebration of love. Congratulations, Holli and Gary!
