CHAPEL HILL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | THE BARN AT VALHALLA | SARAH AND CODY

sarah and cody ❤️

Sarah and Cody! This sweet couple was engaged for 3 years before getting married. They actually live in Chicago, but their plans changed because of Covid. Stupid Covid. At the last minute, and by that I mean a couple of months before the event, they were scrambling to get everything all set together… and they found Rose Trail Images. And I’m so happy they did!

The wedding day was held entirely at the Barn at Valhalla, which has a contemporary rustic vibe. The bride got ready on site with her mom and maid of honor. Sarah’s completely stunning bridal gown was from Flora Bridal. When you scroll down, you’ll see there are several pictures throughout the day starring this amazing wedding dress.

You’ll also see there are 2 different rings for Sarah. Cody’s mom, Sarah’s new mother-in-law, gifted her a beautiful ring that actually belonged to her mother. It was a sweet token of affection for her daughter-in-law on the wedding day.

Sarah and Cody had a first look right before doing group portraits. Then, they had a short and sweet wedding ceremony in front of the outdoor fireplace. It was adorned with flowers by Carina Gibson (who was actually one of the groom’s people).

After the wedding ceremony, we made a few couples’ portraits around the grounds, mostly in the completely romantic woodsy areas. Cody is not a super fan of pictures, so we kept this session short. And then it was on to the reception, which was a laid back indoor/outdoor affair. They had a pizza bar for dinner and everyone relaxed on the deck, chatting and enjoying the live string band. A perfectly easy going evening to celebrate a super sweet couple.

congratulations sarah and cody!
