Before micro weddings were a thing, Tara and Tyler dreamed up their perfect wedding day including a close knit guest list of less than 30 people -and their beautiful dog, Hammie! They are the sweetest and most laid back couple I know! Their ceremony and reception took place at the Honeysuckle Tea House in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was an absolutely gorgeous spring day with fluffy clouds and sunny skies.
Tyler’s sister, Ali, helped to organize the entire day, which started with Tara getting her hair done at Poppy Salon in Durham. Then she finished getting ready in a yurt on the Honeysuckle property, which had such an amazing cozy-natural vibe.
Speaking of natural, Tara is allergic to flowers! So she made her bouquet and table arrangements herself! Another unique handmade feature of this wedding was the beautiful welcome sign. It was made by Tara’s stepdad. Also, so very special… Tyler designed Tara’s ring himself and it was created at Adiamor. How thoughtful is that???
The wedding ceremony was short and joyful. It was held in front of a grassy field with a sprawling bright sky for the backdrop. Immediately following the ceremony, we made the couple’s portraits around the gardens at the Honeysuckle Tea House. There were several picturesque locations for portraits and we took full advantage of all of them!
At the reception, dinner was catered by Southern Harvest Catering and afterwards, everyone enjoyed treats from Happy Cakes. One of the highlights of the day was when Tara and Tyler shared their cookies -instead of cutting a cake. It was super cute! During the reception, there was a singer on stage in the main area of the lawn. At one point, she took a break and Tara and Tyler had their first dance on the lawn at sunset. It was such a romantic end to the evening! Sunset light is some of the most dreamy beautiful light! I’m so excited to share these pictures!
