DURHAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | BAY 7 | KENDALL & SCOTT

How romantic is this shot of Kendall and Scott during their first dance? I am swooning over the photos of their wedding coordinated by Emily Katherine Events. It was such a gorgeous wedding at Bay 7 right around the holiday season of 2019… and weren’t the Christmas decorations up at the American Tobacco Campus just magical??!!

Would you believe I only found out about it three days before it was scheduled? Yes. THREE DAYS!!! Emily called me up asking if I was available because their photographer was sick in a hospital in Wisconsin and wasn’t able to make it. Can you imagine? As luck would have it, not only was I available, but my fantastic second shooter Ariel was also available, and that is how I came to meet Kendall and Scott on their wedding day. When I arrived at Kendall’s crepe-paper-and-laughter-filled hotel room, I gathered that she was the one wearing a veil. Then we all walked over to the wedding venue where everyone got ready and sipped champagne in the most festive celebratory wedding day fashion.

I got to know the couple throughout their day. They are very athletic -don’t miss the photos of the bride’s special white kicks for the reception! Kendall is the rowing coach at Duke. Fun fact: She went to the Olympics on the women’s rowing team!!! How amazing is that??! But the bride and groom met in college over their mutual love of soccer. Kendall actually played on the men’s team when Scott was playing, and kicked booty as you would expect. Soccer is a huge part of their lives and in lieu of a guestbook, they had a soccer jersey for guests to sign. It was a very creative personal touch.

Instead of a first look, the couple stood back to back and read letters they wrote to each other immediately before the ceremony. It was a very sweet moment for the bride and groom before the ceremony. The wedding party watched out the windows of the venue. Kendall also did a first look with her dad a little bit earlier that full of smiles and laughter.

Another particularly lovable detail I need to mention is the couple’s sweet dog, Mia. She arrived dressed to impress promptly after the ceremony for some adorable family portraits, snuggles, enthusiastic kisses, and a romantic walk around the American Tobacco Campus. Like you do.

The whole day was positively amazing and romantic and fun! So! Fun! Here are a few highlights…
