RALEIGH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | HARRY POTTER AND GAME OF THRONES THEMED WEDDING | CHARLOTTE AND ARTHUR

I have been DYING to show you these pictures!!!! In fact, if I could post every single photo I took from this day, I would... EEEEEEK!!

The Happy Couple

Charlotte and Arthur were introduced to me by Emily of Emily Katherine Events, and I'm ever so thankful. Adventurers with warm souls, gaming hearts, and a love for all things nerdy, I fell in love with them immediately.  We bonded over our mutual love of Harry Potter and wine, and as they were telling me the details of their wedding, I just couldn't contain how excited I was! We met up for their engagement pics back in February at the Butterfly House at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC and had a total blast together... in fact, have a look for yourself at how much fun we had at their engagement session

The Wedding Day

getting ready

On April 1st, I knew that after eating all those chocolate easter eggs I was going to have an amazing day... and I was not disappointed!  I met up first with Charlotte and her girls at the Marriott City Center in Downtown Raleigh, and as soon as I walked in I was blown away. Charlotte and her girls were already dressed to the nines and her DRESS was just absolutely breathtaking. A beautiful, flowy silvery gray color, that hugged her curves in just the right spot, had the perfect amount of princess pouff, and with a gorgeously matched shawl, she was inspiring to look at. With everyone in good spirits, we laughed and took pictures of details, including her homemade bridesmaid necklaces, her Harry Potter-inspired Head Girl pin, and her Matron of Honor's Game of Thrones-inspired Hand of the Queen pin (and yes, the Best Man had a Hand of the King pin as well). Their beautiful golden flowers were adorned with feathers and matched all of the glittery awesomeness!

first look

The girls and I marched ourselves over to Nash Square, a popular spot here in downtown Raleigh for lounging, yoga, and pictures! We completed a first look for the bride and groom, got some portraits done, and the families all got to see the bride and groom to be all dolled up together. Pure spring perfection!

the ceremony

The ceremony and reception were held at The Bridge Club, a beautiful lofty space in Raleigh that has gorgeous windows, high ceilings, and excellent food! There were candles, lanterns, old books, and muggles everywhere! The music playing was theme songs from various shows and movies... think The Office, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and of course... Game of Thrones. The ceremony was short and sweet, filled with sweet words to each other, amazingly awesome pop culture references, and tears of joy.

the party

Here's where it gets even more awesome... for cocktail hour, they had a murder mystery game! Guests were places into color coded teams, and were urged to mingle around with other guests finding out clues about who had done it! Some guests tried to use the cute kiddos as bait, but in the end the kids tricked them all and won the game for themselves! There was lots of wine, a cheese board, and nothing but smiles all around! Once the game was finished, everyone went upstairs for the dinner, which was an event all in its own! There was meat, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts that were AMAZING (and if you know me, and I'm saying this, you know they HAD to be good!) and it was all served family style down the long tables. The cake, which was an amazing site, had the Hogwarts express coming out, as well as the Millennium Falcon, along with The Ring, a golden snitch, and many other references! After dinner, instead of dancing there were games and Nintendo! Adults were playing Mario Kart against the kiddos, there was Exploding Kittens, Boggle, Jenga, and sooo many others. It. Was. Fabulous.

Charlotte and Arthur, I hope you have as wonderful a life as I had enjoying your big day. Your souls were meant for happiness, and you have definitely found it with each other. I wish you nothing but the best, and hope to see you both again in the future!! Congrats my friends!
