Megan and Tyler! The first wedding of 2020! Brand new year, brand new decade. What a fresh start… right??! And it couldn’t have begun on a better note. These two are so fun!
The fall before, we made their engagement photos at Horseshoe Nature Preserve in Raleigh. Here are a few of those pictures to introduce this sweet couple. As you can clearly see, Megan and Tyler could not be a more lovable couple if they tried. The hugs, snuggles, and piggy back pictures give me all the warm fuzzies! So cute!
I actually met the bride through one of her bridesmaids, Kayla. I photographed Kayla’s wedding back in October 2018. Kayla is also the owner of Joyful Harvest Designs, for which she makes lovely rustic chic signage for homes and weddings.
Family and friends helped out a lot on the day of the wedding. From decorations to coordinations. The cake was even made by Tyler’s aunt. Megan also included her family past by pinning a special heirloom brooch to her bouquet. It was a sentimental gesture perfect for the occasion.
The couple chose to do a first look. But it was a little bit different than what you usually see. First they read each other’s vows. The special books they had for the vows were so elegant! After they finished reading, we did their first look, which involved a few tears. Definitely NOT sad tears though. It was a beautiful moment!
The wedding ceremony itself was super quick -as in six minutes. Yes, really! But it was super beautiful and personal. There were so many happy tears at this wedding. I’ve never seen so many at one wedding. It was so lovely.
Fun detail: Megan’s shoes were incredibly GORGEOUS. But after approximately 2 minutes, she decided they just weren’t for her. And that is how the bride went barefoot for the rest of the day. Basically all day barefoot. It was amazing. The ceremony, the party… even outside for group photos and the bride and groom’s portraits… walking down the street totally barefoot. This is exactly how your wedding day should be: You do you!
OH! AND! Plot twist: Tyler tossed the bride’s bouquet to the groomsmen! It was hilarious. The photos will make you chuckle.
The whole day was truly filled with love and joy. Congratulations, Megan and Tyler!!!
